Basic Facts: Reims

Reims is located in France in 496 ad. it was already the sight of an important french church. In 1211 the church burnt down. The bishop's of Reims made the dision to make a new church a cathedral. The church was finished in the 1300's. The inside of the church is 455 feet long and 98 feet wide. The nave is 125 feet tall in the center.The bell towers are 81 meters tall but were originally supposed to be 120 meters tall. There are two great bells and one , named Charlotte weighed 11 tons. In 1875 the french national assembly paid 80,000 euros for it's restoration.
