The Cathedral of Strasbourg is located in Strasbourg, France.  It is an excellent model of early Gothic work, containing examples of rose windows, arches, spires, and more.  Strasbourg attracts thousands of tourists every year to see the enormous spire that makes Strasbourg, at 142 meters, one of the tallest cathedrals in the world.

Originally Romanesque, Strasbourg was renovated to reflect a swing towards Gothic architecture in Europe.  Many sculptors and architects who had already successfully constructed Gothic structures were selected for this job.  Among these were Erwin von Steinbach and Ulrich von Ensingen.
