EXTERIOR

Chartres has many flying buttresses. The north spire is 377ft and the south spire is only 349ft. The two spires were supposed to match one another. Chartres is 463 ft long and 185 ft wide. The nave of the cathedral by its self is 427ft long. Chartres Cathedral is supported by 5 flying buttresses on each side and 3 on the back side of the Cathedral.
