THE LEGEND OF MONT ST. MICHEL

Picture
1
In 708, the Archangel St. Michael came to St. Aubert, the bishop of Avranches, and told him to build a church. When he ignored him, St. Michael burned a hole in his head with his finger. That got the bishop to take action and start the idea of the construction for the cathedral. He decided to build it upon a cone shaped islet made of granite rock connected to the land by a bridge. The construction of the cathedral began in October 16, 708.
